Coach Development

This pillar of service will focus on partnering with provincial sport associations and other ASDC centres to ensure information is available to all coaches in different regions of the province. The ASDC – Capital Region will work to educate and communicate the value of our services that are available to coaches in a variety of sports. The ASDC-Capital Region will continue to encourage coaches to actively participate with their athletes during the coordination and delivery of performance programs and services.

With the National Coaching Certification Program along with the Technical courses that each provincial sport association is responsible for, the ASDC – Capital Region will work to compliment this system by offering our services to all coaches affiliated with their respective PSO. The ASDC Capital Region will also offer regional coaches the opportunity to complete Competition Development Level modules at the University of Alberta. By strategically aligning our ASDC brand and services with the coaching development programs that PSO’s offer, we will ensure more coaches receive quality instruction and not duplication of services.

The ASDC Capital Region will be offering the National Coaching Certification Program Multi-Sport Competition Development Modules in partnership with the Alberta Sport Recreation Parks & Wildlife Foundation throughout the 2010-2011 fiscal year. Please see the "NCCP Modules" page under the "Coaches" tab for a current schedule of when these moduels will be offerred.
