ASDC-Capital Region – Volunteer Program 2010-2011


Education & Certification Requirements

 

• Obtained or in the process of completing a 4yr undergraduate degree related to sport science.
• Obtained or in the process of completing the Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
• Obtained or in the process of completing Certified Exercise Physiologist/Certified Personal Trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology.
• Obtained or in the process of other related certifications.
• All individuals must obtain a security clearance, first aid and CPR prior to beginning volunteer hours. ASDC-Capital Region will cover the cost of the security check.

 

Time Commitment Requirements

 

• At least 1 day per week for a minimum of 2 hours on a regular basis.
• Individuals may volunteer for the entire weekly schedule.
• We ask that the individual remain consistent with the time (s) and day (s) they choose to volunteer for programming purposes.

 

Schedule

 

• Mondays – Wednesdays – Fridays.
• 4:00pm-7:30pm.
• All sessions conducted at Foote Field, unless stated otherwise.

 

Benefits/Compensation

 

• Once individuals have worked 100 volunteer hours, they may have the opportunity to become a paid contractor with the ASDC-Capital Region.
• Attend Training and Development opportunities provided by ASDC-Capital Region.
• ASDC-Capital Region Clothing.
• Practical and Theoretical coaching in the area of strength & conditioning. Also the chance to perfect teaching styles.
