SPORTS NUTRITION FOR PARENTS

"The amount, composition and timing of food intake can profoundly affect sports performance."
IOC Consensus Conference on Nutrition and Sports Performance

As the parent of an emerging athlete, you want to ensure your child is following a healthy diet – doing so supports training, growth and development. Proper nutrition is as critical as training and rest in reducing your athlete’s risk of injury and illness while optimizing his or her sport performance.

The Sports Dietitians at ASDC – Capital Region can offer nutrition advice and information that can help your child properly nourish their body for training and competition. We can advise them on the safe use of supplements and the dangers of prohibited substances. And we can help them develop healthy eating habits they will retain for a lifetime.
